INSIGHTSWhen should you choose high bay or low bay?
High bay and low bay luminaires are lighting solutions for commercial spaces. The main difference is the ceiling height and conditions they are designed for. The right choice helps achieve even illumination and good energy efficiency.
What are high bay lights?
High bay lights are designed for spaces with high ceilings, such as warehouses, industrial buildings, storage halls and sports halls. They need to deliver enough light to floors and work areas despite their high mounting position.
What are low bay lights?
Low bay lights suit commercial spaces with lower ceilings, where the distance between the luminaire and work surface is shorter. Even light distribution is important, with less need for very powerful luminaires.
What determines the choice?
Ceiling height is an important starting point, but room size, use, desired illuminance, beam angles and controls also need to be considered. Lighting design can show which solution delivers the right illumination with the best possible energy efficiency.
